We enjoy being a part of many events. Some events, like Audrey’s party, provide lessons and love beyond the ordinary. Every attendee glowed with love for Audrey and joy for her celebration.
Audrey’s caregiver, Latasha Vandermeer, contacted us in early June to describe the party she wanted to host for Audrey, her live-in client turning 61 in July. Audrey had never celebrated her birthday with a party, and Latasha was determined to throw a party she would always remember. Latasha’s non-profit organization received our discounted rates.
We discussed the party location (Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co.) theme and colors. Owls? Yes, we can do owls! Party decorations were to include a wall-mounted garland and table centerpieces. Mr. Twister would perform for Audrey, her caregivers, and friends, some with physical and mental challenges. We made sure to keep space open for wheelchairs at the serving table. Mr. Twister placed himself a short, easily navigated distance from the table.
Audrey beamed with joy the day of her party, thanking our staff repeatedly for the beautiful balloons! She wore a princess crown, and modeled a ruby red octopus hat as well. Caregivers, too, enjoyed special attentions from Mr. Twister and our friend Amy of Asheville Face and Body Art. Our photographer stayed to document the event for the very busy hostess.
Happy birthday, sweet Audrey! It was truly our pleasure to spectacularize your party.
