Thursday, October 4th from 5-6:30 PM, join Twister Theater in welcoming fans to the Charlotte Bobcats’ FREE NBA Fan Fest and Open Practice at UNCA’s Sherrill Center.
With Michael Jordan’s NBA team training at UNCA this year, tomorrow’s Asheville event is a pre-season extravaganza, free and open to the public. You’ll enjoy Twister Theater balloon artists and face painters; live music and interactive games; appearances by the Lady Cats professional dance team; Bobcats merchandise and more.
The Fan Fest will be held from 5-5:45 pm on the plaza outside the main entrance to the Sherrill Center. Activities include face painting, balloon art, interactive games, live music, Bobcats merchandise for sale, ticket plan information, appearances by the Lady Cats Dance Team, and Rufus, the Charlotte Bobcats mascot. UNC Asheville will also host the mascots Rocky and Rocky I.
From 6-7 p.m., there will be an open practice with the Charlotte Bobcats. No autograph session is planned at this time.

Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Bobcats NBA team has hired Twister Theater to provide five-star performers for its Thursday, October 4th Fanfest and Open Practice at UNCA’s Kimmel Center. We can’t wait.
“We’re expecting several hundred people at the event,” says Emily Ladd of the Bobcats. “The team is training all week in Asheville. It’s a great chance to visit and have fun.”
Four balloon twisters and face painters affiliated with Twister Theater will share their artistry at the festivities just outside the Kimmel Center from 5:00-6:30 PM.

Bandidos Burritos hosted a Madagascar extravaganza for Hannah Smudde yesterday, and Twister Theater provided a variety of services, including balloon decorations, balloon twisting, magic, miming, and event photography.
In his second year providing Hannah’s birthday party balloon twisting and magical fun, Mr. Twister-Asheville was joined by Mr. Mime (a wee sensation).
Sporting a Madagascar movie theme, Hannah’s party was a wild animated creature-filled and rainbow-colored sensation, complete with streamers and jungle blossoms; custom music; friends and family of all ages; face painting; classic games; and the party-long presence of our 2 performers. Mr. Twister pitched in to help serve cake before happily devouring a piece himself.

The kids are back in school, and Asheville’s fall festivals are everywhere!
Twister Theater has balloon artists, face painters and a mime scheduled for September and October events, but it’s not too late to book your own parties and office openings.
Our own Stephanie Miles appears at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company for 5:30-7:30 PM Tuesday Family Nights, and Mr. Twister-Asheville is found at The Hop Ice Cream Cafe on Fridays 7-9 PM.
Twister Theater launched a new performer 2 weeks ago. Mr. Mime is 7 years old and very talkative — except when he’s a mime. Most of his tips went straight into the gumball machine. Thanks to all for your warm welcome.

It’s the time of year Asheville’s eclectic mix of art, craft and talent delivers festival fun. Selection of Bele Chere Festival 2012 stage and street performers is underway, and many of our performers expect to be there.
Asheville’s latest entertainment news (besides the launch of several more breweries) finds the Runaway Circus and the Loose Cabooses in a new community arts space.
